A Global Economy?

This past weekend I traveled to Wilcox AZ for work. Wilcox really isn't a town anymore. It's starting to look a lot like an abandoned movie set. "Night of the Dying Town". It's very sad really, but the current "Knowledge based world economy" doesn't quite seem to be working. There are town's all over the U.S. just like Wilcox AZ. Kanab UT, Quanah TX to name a few. It's truly a tragedy. Two years ago when I first started travelling to Wilcox there was a thriving Veterinary practice that had been there for years. Today it is abandoned, falling down and for sale. There are great old buildings in these towns. Empty, un-kept, and falling down in front of our eyes. We are witnessing the death of the small town.
I want to know how the Global economy is going to help the family farm. The Ace hardware that's been owned by the same family for the last 30 years. The Steakhouse that's been the best place for large family gatherings for the last 15. The local small vineyard with the small incredible restaurant. As these town's die, the locals don't have the income to keep these businesses open. Guess what. They are too small to have a Wal-Mart in town, so people have to travel to purchase everyday items. I think the cost of transportation, shipping from overseas, is slowly going to kill major economies. Instead of giving tax incentives to move your manufacturing business overseas, why aren't our elected officials giving tax incentives to keep manufacturing right here in the U.S. I don't care if we give them the damn land for free if they are willing to bring back job's to the U.S. Who was the idiot who came up with this tax incentive to move manufacturing overseas anyway. I'm sure the high cost of labor dictated by union has a huge impact also. The cost of health care etc. Frankly, if we wiped out the graft and waste in the heath care and labor system's across this country. Manufacturing costs would be more than competitive with overseas markets. If just one of our elected officials had the guts to do a "town hall meeting" in a dying town. They might actually learn a thing or too. Frankly I don't think they have the guts. I bet we couldn't get Romney to drive his Campaign bus through town let enough stay in one.

Suffer in Silence

This blog is for all you whining man hater's out there. As you know I work from home. Most of the time I keep the T.V. on quietly just for the background noise. I usually have one of the movie channels on going from movie to movie without paying attention to most of them. I have seen hundreds of movies the last 9 months and probably couldn't tell you the plot on 5. This last week I started tuning in to the networks morning show's. New's and Information, All three major networks and the major cable networks. You know what I've learned. Women are really unhappy, the world revolves around all of their conditions, Marketers make commercials dedicated to women. Except for men who's dick's don't work.

Here is where I'm going to piss all the women off. Gloria Steinem has ruined our world. Women's rights, women's health conditions, women in the workplace, women in education, stress relating to women, how to be beautiful, wen hair program, pms, pmsd, incontinence, maxi pads, proper bra fit, control top panty hose, latisse grow better eyelashes!!!! It never ends!!!! Trust me girls, men aren't looking at your eyelashes, they are looking at the size of your tit's and how wide your ass is. They wouldn't notice if you even had eyelashes let alone how thick they are, and incontinence, unless you are peeing on the floor or them, They aren't going to notice that either. You know something else. We don't sit around the table on men's night out talking about where to get a jock properly fitted so it doesn't squish our balls. We don't talk about dribbling after we go to the bathroom, and most of us don't talk about a cancer scare or medications we are on or just how oppressed we are.

I grew up surrounded by strong women and the strong men they were married too. My mother is a mean rotten bitch, but she didn't complain. She worked hard. Had a successful career, raised two children with my father, kept a clean house, know's how to cook and taught us how to cook, clean, and take care of ourselves without relying on the government or anyone else.
She may have been a bitch, but she was a tough bitch too and there is a difference. My grandmother was a strong woman. The only thing I can remember her complaining about was the sweating caused by her estrogen pills. When I dated women, they were strong women with strong willed successful mothers. I don't mean successful from a career standpoint. I mean successful in life. Some were stay at home mom's who made sure the ranch ran smoothly and everybody was fed at the appropriate time. That the stock tanks were full during harvest when the men were to busy to keep track and they had clean clothes everyday. They were women who volunteered at school and with Cub Scouts and with Brownies and entertained for the boss when they were called too. They were successful in the workplace. They were Secretaries, they ran Insurance agencies, School Lunch Room's, Head Surgery Nurses, I had a great aunt who was a Personal Secretary for a prominent business man and I never heard her complain about about how oppressed she felt being a women. I had a customer once who had a rough start in life, became a playboy bunny at an early age. Worked hard, waited tables, landed a successful businessman, became a fashion icon, a personal shopper at prestigious women's shop's working for other women and she never complained. She had a simple motto. One that after 47 years I finally decided to follow. She said "Life is simple, if your unhappy make a change." When I used to reply what about the money. Her reply was equally as simple. "If you want to change bad enough the money will come" . You know what? She was right! You know what else. Women didn't use to settle for anything. If they were unhappy they made it better.

I know some successful women today. From all walks of life. Horse Trainers, Teachers, Nurses, Homemakers, Insurance Brokers, Office Managers, and Private Business Owners. You know what separates them from the rest. They don't complain, they set a goal and they work towards it. They don't settle for what they've been dealt, but they don't complain.

I don't know if it is because I was raised in the midwest and women there are stronger than most but one thing I am sure of. Women of today can't hold a candle to them. They are tough. They are still tough to this day. My suggestion to the women of today. If your unhappy make a change and have the guts to stick it out and make it work. If you don't suffer in silence and spare the rest of us from having to listen to your incessant whining.

Let's Place the Blame Where it Belongs

As you all know by now and American Soldier slipped a cog and slaughtered 16 Afghani's. The tragedy here is on more levels than anyone is willing to say.

Let's take a moment to look at them all.
First. Let's place some of the blame on the Afghan people. After 10 years they are still unable to govern their own country successfully. No basic governmental infrastructure. Their security forces change sides as often most people change their underwear. They are so afraid of standing up to the Taliban that they would rather be continually oppressed, live in caves and hovel's with no running water and electricity. They definitely live by the code, if I am quiet enough no one will notice me and maybe I will live into my thirties. Frankly It's time they learned to stand up for themselves, and stopped being a drain on the worlds economies, humanities, and karma.

Second, Let's put some of the blame on the U.S. Government. What in the hell are we doing sending soldiers on 4 tour's of duty. These men sign up for the armed services because they are proud to be an American and they want to serve their country. Living in tents, outhouses, temporary showers, poor quality food, not to mention the constant threat from gunfire, bombs, and terrorist attacks. All defending a people who are too paralyzed to pick up arms and defend themselves. I can't even begin to imagine the stress, frustration, anger and futility that they feel after one deployment let alone four. Military budget restraints, partisan politics, and political agendas are crippling this country and placing American citizens in harms way all around the globe.

Third. Staff Sgt, Bales Commanding officer and some of his fellow servicemen have to have had some indication that he was going to slip a cog. Nobody goes tilt without showing some indication that they need some help.

Fourth and lastly. Staff. Sgt. Bales himself. While I applaud and am proud of each and every soldier serving for this great country. If Sgt. Bales is guilty. He needs to be punished to the full extent of the law. Both here in the United States, and in a manner which satisfies the Afghan people. After all it is the Afghan people that he is accused of killing. I am sickened that he did not get the attention, and respect that he deserved, and that he was put in the position to take the actions that he is accused of.

The Story of Buck

Last night I watched the documentary Buck. Several of my friends have told me to watch it as it is one of the best movies they have ever seen. Contrary to what most of you think. I am one of the most open minded people alive. I've learned to walk down the proverbial middle of the road about just about everything before I make up my mind. So now if you've read this far you might as well know you're going to get my review of the movie Buck.
Contrary to whatever you think about the life he has lead and his childhood. He is not all that extra-ordinary. I'm sure that there are several successful businessmen all across the country that were abused as children as well. You see it gives you a different perspective on life, or your life anyway. One thing he said that rings home for sure, it tends to make you live in the moment. Living a solitary childhood is also the norm for abused children. Staying out of the line of fire, and not having many if any childhood friends also seem to be the case with all children who are abused. Frankly Buck was lucky. He was removed from the house at age 12 and got to escape the hell he had been living in. Some of us have to endure it until we are old enough to leave on our own.
While I do agree somewhat that as horse trainers go, he may be rare, but as horsemen go, he is far from rare. Ranchers all over this country have been training horses the gentle way for years, and will be for years to come. Financially successful horse trainers spend months away from home. That is nothing special. In 2008 I was away from home 36weeks with a load of horses. You have to have an incredible support team at home to make that work. The profit margin sucks. You wear out trucks and trailers and yourself. You wake up some mornings and look in the mirror and you can see all 80 thousand miles that you've been on the road in the last 12 months in the tracks of your face. I was impressed he actually aired the portion of the show that showed the renegade horse, and I was even more impressed that he had the balls to blame it on the human. Most horse problems are propagated by their humans.
So I guess you can say I wasn't that impressed with Buck the movie. Having lived that life for almost 30 years I guess I didn't see anything too extra-ordinary in what he does. In my horse training career I was lucky enough to achieve all of the goals that I set out to. In my case it was without question time to make a change.

Th Future

I haven't written in my blog for a long time. I was told that I was getting to political, and as a small business owner trying to launch a new business I couldn't afford to alienate potential customers. I think I have been quiet long enough.

I am very concerned about the state of our country. Not just the country, but the seemingly inability to recognize that both our chosen leaders, and the ones that we have to choose from are completely out of touch with the reality of what is going on in our economy. I have made the same trip through the western third of the United States from Arizona to the tip of Idaho four times in the last 24 month. Same highways through the same towns, small to huge metropolitan areas. One thing that disturbs me a great deal is that these town's are dying. All of them. Motels and restaurants that were open two years ago are closed and for sale. I stop and eat at small diners along the way people are quiet, serious, and worried about their future. The atmosphere is dark and depressed in these places. People are seeing their life savings dwindle away to nothing. Hope's and dreams are being crushed at an alarming rate.

There are good hardworking people in America, they like to have successful productive lives. they just need a little direction, and a government that has their backs. Worrying about contraceptives and gardening from the rooftops in New York city is not going to bring this economy back. Just as disturbing is the fact that the most listened to right wing conservative radio talk show host, with 750,000 listeners can call a hard working woman. Who is working her way through law school a slut and a prostitute because she is exercising her right to free speech. I think it's great that he has lost 10 different advertisers, but why aren't we upset that he has lost his damn manners too. Someone asked Romney's wife about being rich, and she answered that she doesn't think about how much money they have. Of course not. That's because they have more than enough.

The bottom line here is that we don't have a good choice for president in the upcoming election. The socialist we have in office is unable to lead and the republicans can't seem to find a good candidate, and when they find one that might work, they attack them personally until they no longer want to run for office. I don't know how to get the establishments attention. But something has to be done so that they can really see what is going on in the country.

I'm frustrated, and I think that we should all be frustrated and do drastic things until the politicians start paying attention to something besides themselves and do the right things for America.
