unemployment checks.

It rained here this weekend which means that I've had a lot of free time on my hands today. As such I have come up with another little tidbit if wisdom, or my version anyway, to pass along.
Millions of americans are going to stop getting there unemployment checks this week because congress has missed the deadline to sign the extension. I bet that people getting welfare checks are going to stop getting them. Anyway thats another column. I think that we have a really good solution to putting people back to work and closing the budget deficits all at the same time. Why dont we put them to work in the schools, and the rest areas and all of the state parks that are going to have to close because of the state the economy is in. After all I think a bunch of parents putting some time in at our local schools could really be a benefit for both the school systems, and the parents, and in turn the students. After all they used to claim that they couldnt spend enough time with their kids because of all the hours they had to work to make ends meet. But of course they didnt want the educators raising them. This way they have the chance to spend as much time with the onery little bastards as they need to raise them up properly. Then they can stop complaining about the jobs that the teachers are doing while they are at school. It would be the same in the state parks, instead of complaining about the trash and the condition of the restrooms, they could actually be cleaning them up. Not too mention all the benefits they could bring to roadsides and local playgrounds and such. Not too mention they could spend some time with the local legislators and mayors and city councils and help them with finding real solutions to the budget. I am sure it would help with their self esteem and get them over their depression caused by getting fired in the first place.
Just a thought.
till next time.
